I’ve spent 25 years in wine across Australia, the UK and international markets, and most of it has been spent deciding what’s worth listing and then building the programme that makes it succeed.

I judge as a Panel Chair at the International Wine Challenge. I built the wine programme at AKI London from a blank wall to opening night, ran wine operations across the St JOHN group, worked as Wine Programme Director for The Arbour in Malta ahead of its October opening, and have consulted to Aperivino in Belsize Village for over two years. I write for The Buyer and Harpers on the commercial side of the trade, most recently on where Australian wine is actually growing in the UK.

I’m just as happy hosting a tasting as building a list. Private gatherings, corporate events, celebrations, masterclasses for beginners and for people who’ve been drinking seriously for decades. 

The style is warm and inclusive, there’s no snobbery in it, and the aim is that everyone leaves having enjoyed themselves and learned something. The approach is style over geography and discovery over safety. 

I’d rather develop what a venue already has than tear it up, and I’d rather put a guest in front of something they’ve never heard of than something safe.
